The once in a lifetime scam

This came to me while i was sitting in IF, i was talking to a guy about beta and asked him how much he would pay to get in beta now he responded with, "I would shard all of my gear to get to buy it" Now asking several others the same question i slowly realized the huge potential that lay before me. This is the Beta-Key Scam.

1. Have a friend, guildie or anyone you trust post up several auctions for grey items with buyouts of 1000g.

2. Be prepared for a 3 day ban so if you have already gotten a 3 day this could be a perma. A method of avoiding a ban altogehter as posted by Glikko92 is, to do everything on a trial account and when the highest bidder has been found switch onto a character with accents over the letters and collect the gold.

3. Make an alt to avoid a bad reputation and simply say in trade "WTS Burning Crusade Beta-Key, PST"

4. I have tested and almost instantly got 10-15 whispers, this may vary from server to server though.

5. Let the bidding begin and when you have reached the highest amount begin to explain to the High Bidder the process.

6. Agree upon terms where they give you either part or all of the money then you tell the fake beta key, here is an example of one that will not work but has the correct number of characters,

ex/ H9Z5 QV37 I8NBL9 W5TX KJ42B

7. Now with the gold you have just recieved buy out the auctions your friend has put up and enjoy.

GG man, this is great. Now, if you dont want the ban just Say "WTS Burning Crusade Beta Key PST" on a trial account. Then tell the highest bidder you will get off the trial account to get the gold and tell him the key code. Make a char on your account with very weird letters, he will not be able to remember this guarenteed if its long and ALL weird letters, and then get the gold, b/o the gray itmes..etc etc...Delete the char and get ur gold GL

....If you read correctly Spam that you WTS the code on the trial account, THEN when you find the highest bidder make a char on your REGULAR accnt with weird letters etc.. GG

Don`t really got it...
1.Friend puts Auctions for you(letters with "beta keys" or what?!)
2.Get bidders Via Trial Acc. that bid for the "Letterkey"
3.Get Money?

No one will trust you??

The greys you are putting on the auction house via your friends account are merely there for safe transfer of gold. You get them to give you the gold after you tell em fake beta-key, then go and buy out the grey untracably transfering the gold to your friend

Only thing that can go worng here is blizz looking up the IP of the Trial acct. otherwise its GG and +gold

don't do this! auto Ip address ban tested on my friends computer/account, he quit and doesn't play so he doesn't use his IP so i tried it with his permision and his Ip got banned. Yea and they now remove gold from chars/mail. Blizz is catching onto us >.>
