[ACTIVE] Select Duplicate Heroes in Competitive Mode
WARNING:
Exploits are punishable by suspension in agreement to the terms of Blizzard's EULA. That being said, this is perhaps one of the most blatant exploits you can commit in Overwatch. It is *STRONGLY RECOMMENDED* that preventative measures be taken prior to conducting this exploit, such as using a Smurf Account, Leaving your group as soon as the match begins [to reduce likelihood of association] and conducting the exploit during the match [as opposed to the beginning]. Use at your own risk.
IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THIS EXPLOIT, THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET:
-First Player must be able to suicide, either by means of falling or self-inflicted damage. [ex: Pharah, Junkrat, S76, etc]
-First Player must be dead
-The desired hero must NOT be actively selected by any other [living] player
-Second player must be actively stationed inside of a spawn room.
DIRECTIONS:
1: First player must be dead before engaging duplicate process
2: While First Player is dead, have First Player select the desired hero to duplicate
3: Once desired hero is selected by First Player, PRESS 'H' key in character select screen. This will "de-select" the character and make them available for other players.
4: Have Second Player swap into selected character BEFORE First Player respawns
5: First Player must hit the "ESC" key upon reaspawn timer expiration. This will close the hero select screen and return the player to the active level as the same character that Second Player is using.
Thats it. Recommended heroes to dupe include Tracer on KOTH, Winston (Twinston) or Ana, but the choice is up to you. Have fun!

Hm, it's almost like he stated that in the very first paragraph

I might as well mention that last hero switching bug abuse got people only a week ban. The damage was already done though. Permabans was for server crashing.
This bug won't be get widespread as it requires a partner to do it with and pointless at times.

Could this be duplicated over and over to have 6 people as the same champ?

I have not tested this for confirmation. I believe it is possible,as it may require each duplicate hero to be dead [and subsequently select and release the hero, possibly in a chain or order]
