Im loving that Idea when I first came here I was never greeted sucks
I love the ide of a welcome forum. It's really nice just to have somebody there to say hi when you first join up!
If you want to introduce yourself use the general chat. A welcome forum would be used for increasing the spamcount. :|
But still, it's not my decision. I am a fan of big post counts and I would like to see that.^^

Me too, although it would be the start for newbies and there first post. ^_^
Yeah everyone needs a 'starter' post, but most people don't read the 'Welcome' area, so IMO a welcome area is useless.
Still, more people, more welcomes, only nice commets please. QQ!
Let's don't drag this into a argument, please? Argueing online . = is the special olypimaces, if you win, your still retarded. 6):
we get maybe 200-1000 new people a day, moderating the welcome section would be a nightmare
True, but the online is a nightmare.
Sorry, but the entire purpose of the 'Suggestion' area is to...gasp, offer suggestions to improving the site, and if people don't go against the idea, such as I did, then every idea that people suggest would be implemented!
I'm not arguing with you, just simply saying that your idea won't work when there are about a hundred new people registering a day...

True, but lets stop spamming, then. XD
The idea is really not a good one. This is a huge community, hundred or so people joining a day. You don't need to introduce yourself. You can write in your first post, " lol sauce, meh first post!1" You will become known soon enough, given you post and contribute. Add your contact info to your profile and let people talk to you if you so please. Hell, you can just talk in PM's. An intro forum will just become a haven for spam, and it doesn't contribute to the site, so it's not desirable to have.
Not to sound mean, but with an intro forum, so many people will be introducing themselves, and I personally don't think that many will be remembered... A topic is open for a few days, then never touched again. Sitting there, taking up space. I don't know, that's just me. Just be friendly and kind (i.e. no uncalled for flaming, and mild flaming at that), and I'm sure you will meet lots of people, all of whom like you. These things take time too, so be patient. Just continue (or start) to contribute, post, be helpful, be respectful, and good things come your way.
Somehow got off track, but contributing and being nice --> people remember you and you get +rep = no need for welcome forum.
