He tweeted about spoofing. Bots are being blocked via API update right?

A vague statement implying something is "coming" is not an official announcement, and in no way shape or form is telling anyone when banning of bots will be implemented.

Everyone was already well aware that bots/spoofers are going to be banned at some point... He's only saying what people want to hear, but in cryptic short phrases, much like any other company head would to calm down their consumers when they can't handle the situation. You saying that it's going to happen soon based on no actual time frame given from a dev (somebody who actually works on the game) is misleading. I'm just tired of all these annoying rumors everyone's spreading to rattle other users.

Don't forget that he got his Twitter account hacked after using nopass for his password. Niantic cannot even handle their own tracking system yet people think they are somehow going to go balls out on spoofing? lol

I reckon they will implement a max range for catching pokemon, just like pokestops, to prevent the worldwide sniping method currently used. But other than that, just wait for more news. A random vage tweet doesn't mean anything. Except that Niantic is aware of people using gps spoofing.
