    Power Up? or Evolve?

    I have a dragonite I just found with 964 CP.
    I also have a dragonair with 728 CP. (fairly high for a dragonair I think?)

    Would I be better to evolve my dragonair? Or would I be better to do Power ups on my dragonite?
    Would one result in a higher max CP?

    So pumping 100 candies into powerups will not yield higher than 100 into an evolve?
    that calculator doesn't do anything for power ups.

    What's the point of wasting 100 candies and a shitton of stardust if you can achieve the same result with evolve. Keep stardust for Dragonite that comes out of evolution.

    I don't quite follow? an evolve wastes 100 candies just the same as doing 100 candies worth of power ups?
    If 100 candies in powerups results in a higher cp, isn't the evolve a waste of candies?

    CP is a like the level. max lvl ist 40. So your pokemon can get lvl 41.5 (max level). Every pokemon got a CP cap but with evolution you can raise it. So i think it doesnt matter if you first evolve or first push with candies. Most important are the move skills and the IV what ur pokemon got.

    Best case: IV 100%, Move type = move set type (ice pokemon with blizzard and ice beam)

    The debate isn't if I should do one first or the other.
    I have two different pokemon.
    1 = dragonite
    1 = dragonair

    I know there's a website that will calculate evo CP...
    but I want to know how I can calculate Power Up CP.

    Because maybe it will only take 50 candies to get my dragonite to a similar CP as my dragonair + evo(100 candies).
    (Thus saving 50 candies on an evo)

    First: Beside the cp level, u will save candy when u push a dragonit and not evolving the dragonair.
    Best case: High IV and high cp. So you dont need so many candies ;D

    Maybe the follow links will help you.
    In Pokemon Go how much does a Power Up increase the CP? - Arqade

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...lview?sle=true

    https://rankedboost.com/pokemon-go/tier-list/

    So average dragonair Level 01

    I there are 79 level ups from level 1:

    79 x 23 cp/lvl x 2.1(evo) = xxx

    Dragonite lvl 1:
    79 x 47 = xxx

    The problem is, the max cp is 3500 of a dragonite. Even with the lowest cp per lvl u reach 3523,4 max cp.
