That someone was able to datamine the screen from within the game. There is no information that anyone was banned.

What was funny is watching people on Reddit or elsewhere jizz themselves over the picture, the same people who probably pirate stuff or do other potentially questionable things are suddenly righteously indignant and morally superior over some GPS spoofing.

It's not even a competitive game, I don't know what their problem is. Then again these are probably the same people who defend Niantic and their shitty server infrastructure and lack of planning.

I am not sure that it is a fake, the last days many twitchStreamer got reported for GPS spoofing. Maybe they really looked into it
