[Guide] Reconfiguring MySQL for Remote Access

Just go to start then look at this screen shot . . .



Then, skim through all the options and click Next for everything until you reach this page . . .



Just make sure root access is enabled.

Then, on the other computer just connect to the SQL server as you would normally . . . I suggest Navicat, here's the connection info you should enter in . . .




I suppose this ~*might*~ be common sense but someone needed help and I made this mini-guide. I then decided to make this thread for everyone!

Or, for better security, you can create a new user in, forexample navicat, and then set the host to %, and blah blah blah, set the security tags, so they can do what they need to do.

But anyways, I will +Rep you if you tell me how you managed to change the text of the Start button! (Please say you didnt use any mods...)

I used Resource Hacker (Resource Hacker) and modified my Explorer.exe, I backed it up of course!

And, it doesn't matter much that root is public if you use a long password! Mine is 18 characters long
