How to inject text into a World of Warcraft chat?

From a standing start, my knowledge of injecting is minimal. I've only recently started to really dig in and get dirty.

I was wondering if someone with a bit more knowledge can answer questions as I go along?

I'm working on a way to inject your twitch.tv irc chat into your active WoW chat tab. That's the outcome I'm looking to complete.

Any pointers to get me started are appreciated.
