Our discussion today is aimed to help POE Players to know path of exile auras better and choose the right ones to create a powerful build. We mainly discuss aura build from aura gems, passive skill trees and POE items.



First of all, let’s introduce the various auras that we can access in path of exile.

Attack Benefit:
Anger: enforce fire damage with a certain number of damage.
Hatred: enforce cold damage with a certain percentage of physical damage.
Wrath: enforce lightening damage with a certain number of damage.
Haste: enforce attack speed, spell speed as well as movement speed.



Resistance Benefit
Purity of Fire: increase fire resistance and its maximum.
Purity of Ice: increase cold resistance and its maximum.
Purity of Lightning: increase lightening resistance and its maximum.
Purity of Elements: increase three elemental damage.



Defence Benefit
Vitality: provide life regenerate per second with a certain percentage.
Discipline: provide ES with a fixed number.
Grace: provide evasion with a fixed number.
Determination: provide armour with a certain percentage.
Clarity: provide mana regenerate with a fixed number.
PS: Rejuvenation Totem also players as an aura in POE, it help generate blood with a fixed number.



Second, let’s view the POE passive skill tree that related with auras.



It locates in the right upper place of Scion, middle place.
Aura effect increase 6%, mana reserve decrease 4%, increase aura area 30%
These three passives don’t have a significant help to your aura build, usually, the third aura area benefit passive can be ignored.



It is in the right place of the tree, right upper Shadow place.
Mana reserve decrease 4%, aura effect +6%, aura effect +14%
These are important for an aura build as its high aura effect increase. We can usually get about 56% aura effect increases in the whole passive skill tree, and we can get about 20% here, really helpful.



It is in the right of the tree, in the middle between Shadow and Ranger.
Aura area +12%, mana reserve -4%, mana reserve -8% as well as aura effect +6%
Mana reserve rate is high here which is helpful for your aura build, we can get about 38% mana reserves in the whole passives, and we can get 12% here.



It is in the left corner.
Aura effect 6%, aura area +12%,aura effect 10% mana reserve -4% and aura effect +8%
Aura area will be enforced greatly here. with the reserve -4% and aura effect +8%, this place is a nice investment.



It is in the left corner of the tree, left part of the Witch.
It is the largest circle of aura, if you want to build a aura build and can reach this part, do it. One aura area 12%, two aura effect +6%, two mana reserve -4%, one mana reserve -6%, one mana effect +10%.



Other passives such as the buff effect and Athleticism are also benefit for aura. Notice Mortal Conviction, it offers us 60% less mana reserved, really attractive, but we need to reach it through Blood Magic, so, make your own selection here.



So, you can calculate the mana reserve, mana effect as well as mana effect you have gotten from the passive tree.



Third, there are some path of exile items and POE unique items that will help us enforce aura effect. We have listed some of them for you. The Alpha’s Howl 8% mana reserved is benefit in the whole character.



Notice:

When we want to enforce and invest more in aura effect, mana serves, aura area and so on, we have to lose more chances in blood, resistance, magic find and so on. Also, we have little sockets in the items for other skills besides auras. Also notice the difference between mana reserves and decrease mana cost.
