Creating a new bot

Hey guys,

First of all, I'm sorry if this isn't the right spot for this. I looked around, and couldn't find a better place...

I'm thinking about writing my own bot. I've been a programmer for a while, and figure this would be a fun project.

What kind of things do I need to know? How do I avoid Warden? Are most people using a AutoIT style automation, or are there other ways that are typically used?

Also, what are the legal things to know? Could I get sued, etc?

Other typical way would be using C#, you can find all needed offsets here.
Sure you can get sued if you sell it, but if you keep it to yourself/share it for free I doubt it.

And what is an offset ? /shy

I am really new to bot programming, but familiar with programming in oop languages such as java or C#. I have some additionnal questions :

1. Is there any specific API to use in order to communicate with WoW ?
2. Once the scripts are done, how to use them ?
