Ok I'm just about fed up w/ people complaining they can't get their server up and running when they are trying to use one of the more complex DB's. Now it's not really complicated at all, just to you because you have no clue what you are doing. So here is my advice, stop trying to get up a good server when you dont even know what an Emulator is. Chances are that you WILL fail. I have seen so many people try to set up JulianX's Ascent repack and DB and they have complained that Julian forgot something in the guide because they did all of it right. WRONG. Many people have got it up running by just knowing the simple facts about making one. I mean someone actually thought his shopping mall, for Ascent, was for MaNGOS! WOW! And he also said it was for the latest rev of Ascent... So my advice to all of the new comers to MMOwned and emulator servers, stick w/ MaNGOS. It's one of the crappier ones because it is basically the buggiest and takes no brain power in setting it up. And if you say its not working, the reason is that you did something wrong or file corruption. Either way just try to redownload it and give it another go, but DO NOT go for the better Cores when you have no clue how to use MaNGOS in the first place.

Well that's a simple problem, I have no problem w/ those kinda problems. It's just when people start crying about how something is wrong w/ the repack and they don't even know what they are doing. Anyways, post your realm.conf please and I'll help.

Ok well apparently what I was looking for was not in there. So it must be in the mangosd. Find the realmlist info and make sure its set to 127.0.0.1 in mangosd and see if it works. If not then post that too...

In which conf file does it edit your realmlist address?

Wait a minute. Wouldn't you change it in your realmd in SQLyog/Navicat?

Well if that didn't work, I don't know what else to say. I don't use MaNGOS and don't know much about the layout of it, or intend to know . But make a thread about asking to fix a MaNGOS realm loop. And again, sorry I could'nt figure out your problem. Hope you find the answer.

when you run your server make sure your booting up mysql and it has to be running the whole time your server is up. that will cause the realmlist looping. if that doesn't work try going into the realmdb with navicat and go to realmlist and then click on ip and change it to that of your router assigned ip. I hope this helps.
and if your using a repack then you might not need mysql there might be a batch file you have to run that starts the sql operation.

First of all you need to give your public ip (http://xx.xx.xxx.xxx) to your friends.
You can find it by executing the MS-Dos prompt and typing <ipconfig> (without the brackets, obviously).
Then you need to open your realmd DB in your SQL. Look in the realmlist table and set your public ip in the address field.
Careful, if you have a dynamic ip (like many) you need to change it everytime you can reconnect to the internet.
Last but not least, you need to go in your x:\windows\system32\drivers\etc directory, open the hosts file and instead of <127.0.0.1 localhost> put <192.168.1.x localhost> (your lan ip),otherwise people won't be able to connect to yor realm.

But I had the same problem before, but I was a while ago.
