    Buying new graphicscard

So, kinda wanting to buy a new card for my computer.

    I currently have GTX 460 (Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 SOC 1GB - Inet.se) and my CPU AMD Phenom II X4 965 3,4GHz, Black edition (AMD Phenom II X4 965 3,4GHz Black Edition - Inet.se)

Do someone of you have any tips of what kind of graphicscard that could fit good with my CPU? Even tho it's a slightly old CPU, putting in a new GPU will it still work or won't I get out the full effect of the new card?

I have 500W power supply also.

    Thanks.

    Prefer nVidia or ATI?

Also you may need to invest in a new power supply :P

Well, will I get out the full effect of the card with my current components? 4GB ram and that CPU I posted on the first post.

I don't really care wether it's Nvidia or ATI.

500W is good enough? My current card is recommended 500 and it works fine, the 660ti is recommended 450 so.

Well The 660ti and 670 Would be a good option or you.

In regards to the powerpack, if you're looking to possibly overclock and run more than just your GFX card in your machine.. I'd still suggest upgrading the PSU soon after. Your current PSU will just eventually drain and break down unless its of high quality..

Well, of course it will do that! But I won't be doing any SLI or overclocking(no expert in that), if I'll do that I will buy a new computer instead.

I'll try to find out exactly what my PS is and how many W it is, i'm right now at my parents house with only my laptop so it's kinda hard to remember, but it's in the range between 500 and 600 atleast.

Yes, the PSU will be enough for either of those graphic cards. But if you're worried about bottlenecking go for the 660ti and you're golden.

the 660ti is kind of expensive for the performance. the Radeon 7950 has about 20% more performance in benchmarks for the same price. although if you're looking more in the $200 range the Geforce 660 and Radeon 7850 are pretty comparable.

Pretty much what the above poster said, you will get much more for your money if you buy a HD7950 instead of 660TI.

HD7870 should be around the price of 660 and it's a little bit faster aswell.

500W Power Supply is more than enough for those cards, your CPU will propably bottleneck the HD7950, maybe the 660TI even so you might be better off saving a few bucks and grabbing a HD7870 if you don't plan on upgrading your CPU to Intel.
