[HELP] Negative account balance on paypal because of Gold Buyer scams.

Hello! I hope this is an appropriate section to post this. I am now -$147 in debt on my Paypal account because of scammers who bought my gold and tried to reverse the transaction (after it was too late, it was already in my bank account, thank god). I have learned my lesson and am much more careful on who I'm selling to, but I still need help resolving this issue, Paypal keeps sending me emails saying I need to resolve the case ASAP. What do I do? I've already started a new Paypal account, but it won't let me close my current one because of the negative balance.

This happened to me, I contacted paypal and they told me that they would reverse the transaction. It would take up to 3 months to get it back. I've been waiting about two and a half months now and haven't seen the money in there yet. If I dont see the money back before Christmas ill try contacting them again. Maybe it will help you if you try contacting them.

Thing is, I've had payments reversed on me before, and I just curse loudly, report the buyer, and carry on my way not expecting to get the money back. With these payments though, I actually got the money, it was sent to my bank account, and I've spent it. But no matter what I do to try to convince them the person trying to reverse the charge is a ****** scammer, they keep sending emails about resolving the issue.

I'm currently having an issue with pending disputes as well (800 dollars worth), you guys think i should resolve it via online, or call them and explain the situation? Anything you know that may help, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Whats your dispute? Have you actually received the money in your bank (spendable) or is it pending a reversal on paypal? What country do you live in?

I'm in Canada. Had the money gifted me from Pearceaz, been sitting there for a few weeks. Now the disputes came, and it says i have 7 days to resolve the issue. The funds are being held atm.

This is the same for me, I'm in Canada, and I think we're safe from any law-type issues that may arise, thank god. I need the same help you do, but the advice I can give you is take the money out of your bank account if possible, and make a new Paypal account, I have a feeling we're going to have to forfeit the main account.

My main account is linked to my bank. Will it be even possible for me to use a new one? (And can they take money from my bank?)

My main account is linked to my bank too, in the process of linking my new account. No idea if they can remove money from your bank (probably not) but just incase I'm keeping bills stacked up at home until this blows over heh. Would love some feedback from someone whose overcome this situation in the past.

They will contact your institution and freeze those funds if they want to.

If you do some research on the scam prevention part of these forums, you will see how many other people deal with this same situation. Some are lawful and some not so much.

I don't want to tell you how to solve it one way or another, but personally I would do everything the clean way and settle my balance and learn from it.

I don't think I could possibly bring myself to give the scammers their money back. And for nyyugin he has a -$800 balance, no way he should have to pay for that.

Started a new paypal account, get $70 on it, receive this today .. Stupidly I put the same name for both accounts..

We routinely review account activity in the PayPal system. When we reviewed
your account, we noticed that your activity violates some of the agreements
    you have with us.

Because of this, we’ve limited your accounts and can no longer offer our
services to you. You’ll still be able to log in to view your transaction
history, but you won’t be able to send or receive money.

    What’s the problem?

We noticed one or more of the following problems:

    1. You provided information that we believe was false, inaccurate, or
    misleading; or

    2. You sent or received money that was potentially related to fraudulent
    activity; or

    3. You have more than one account with a negative balance; or

    4. You are in violation of the User Agreement, the Commercial Entity
Agreement, the Acceptable Use Policy, or another agreement you have with
    PayPal.

Our decision was based on terms outlined in these agreements.

    What to do next

As allowed under the User Agreement, we’ll hold the money in your account
for 45 days. We’ll use your balance to reimburse buyers who file claims,
chargebacks, or any other reversals against you. Before we reimburse the
buyer, in most cases, you’ll have a chance to respond to the claim,
    chargeback, or reversal.

We’ll send you an email after 45 days letting you know when you can
    withdraw money from your accounts.

If you think that we permanently limited your accounts in error, you may
appeal this decision. Just go the Help Centre and click Contact Us.

When you contact us, we’ll need some information to process your appeal.
Please have your drivers’ licence, a current utility bill, your business
licence, your articles of incorporation, or other identifying documentation
    available.

    Sincerely,
    PayPal
