Question about editing .blps

Okay, so I've tried editing the 3'rd blp for a drake everywhich way, so that it combines with 2, to map my "new griffins" wings and horns/tail but I cannot get it to work.

I tried what I used to do where I would number off the files like lets say Test, than Test2, but that has also failed to work.. Is there something I'm missing? The wings from what I can tell have to be mapped from that 3rd .blp, but there are only 2 for the gryph, I can change my mount to saphirron but I cannot get this.. see pic below for saph

Bleh, I'll play around with it.. and if you want your mount to be saphirron send me a tell with your mount, and its colours




Edit: Could the problem I have with renaming be caused by the fact that they end in 01? and 02? should i make one like GRYPHON_SKIN021? or 02_1? hrm...

if i understand u right this involves DBC editing, which is pretty advanced stuff

Nah, I can get the model to change, and dbc wasn't THAT hard.. with demonkunga's help <3, but heres a screen of what I have

to get a fully textured drake, or to make even a 1blp thing to a 3 blp thing, you need dbc editing. which is pretty easy to grasp. but you have to have a good handle on model editing first.

Oh so you mean change the way it maps through dbc? If you want to talk about it... I'd like to chat ^.^

Its not nearly as complex as that. However viable.. its not necessary, You just have to change what the game looks for as the default texture(s) and add them to the right creature folder. all of this of course via dbc editing.

Which DBC editor were do you get it i have googled DBC editor but i am kinda comfused...
