    Hunters: Jobs in Party

    Hunter

    Talent Specialisation

Generally full Agility with Marksmanship makes you deal insane damage, for solo and for group purposes. You might want to put some points into Beastmastery for increasing the damage/hp of your pet... but these are individual choices as you always have to weigh how much solo/group/pvp you are doing.

    What to do
    • Traps. You can use these to enhance damage or to crowd control. A very useful thing is to lay a Freeze Trap before pulling and to pull through it so one mob gets stuck in the trap. This way you can easily split pulls so your group doesn't have to deal with two mobs at a time.
    • Your most important role is of course to deal damage, a few tips for this:
    1. You deal the best damage using ranged weapons.
    2. Always use Hunter's Mark to enhance your damage.
    3. Use Serpent Sting to deal damage over time while continuing to fire arrow/bullets.
    4. Always use Arcane Shot or Aimed Shot when it's up
    5. You can also deal area damage (if there is a lot of mobs and the group agrees on doing area damage) using Volley/Multi Shot/AE-Traps
    • You can debuff big/difficult mobs with Scorpid Shot.
    • Use Distracting Shot if you want to direct the monsters attention on you so you can pull it somewhere, e.g. over a trap
    • Don't forget that some mobs (boss mobs especially) might be much weaker without mana, so take into account that with Viper Sting you can drain a mobs mana fastish to zero.
    • Concussive Shot should be used if you see a mob running away (after you beat it to low HP). Usually hunter's are not on snare duty, but this is a good thing to save situations as mobs that run off, especially in instances, can be extremely dangerous (adds).
    • You will most likely be asked to be the assist of the group (you or a rogue). This is not hard. Try to always pick caster mobs first (if there is not any other rule) and then you continute with the mob that has lowest HP. People will assist you so the whole group has the same target.
    • If you pull aggro or if you simply need to clear it because you are the puller, you have feign death, keep in mind though that mobs can resist this.
    • You might be asked to offtank an add with your pet, try to keep it alive yourself as mostly priests/druids etc. won't have time to focus on healing your pet.
    • Trueshot Aura is nice to increase the whole groups damage. (Works only for melee/arrow/gun-using classes though)

    Equipment Choice

You primary stats are agi/+crit/+ranged atk power/+accuracy/int/sta, in this order.
