    SWTOR Maestro is a trojan/virus?

Just to note - I'm a Mac user so I only use Windows rarely for games only.
I do not install any other software.
    Just Windows and a game.

A few days ago I installed a new (legal and official) installation of Windows 7 64 bit on my laptop.
Installed all updates to it and only installed SWTOR with updates.
Everything went well until installed SMS Maestro.

I didn't visit any sites from under this Windows machine, even SMS maestro download was done with Mac and Safari browser.

Before installing SMS Maestro I scanned it with VirusTotal and one of anti viruses detected a suspicious code inside it - I thought it is because of injection into SWTOR and installed it anyway.

After installing SWTOR bot it did happen that my outgoing DSL channel got overloaded with traffic to port 161.
And this continued until I formatted that Windows laptop.
Even when SWTOR didn't run because of severe network lag conditions.
Thanks to the ISP who helped me to find the cause of the problem.
    Abuse reports sent.

    So, just BEWARE!

    Don't install that crappy trojan!

    SWTOR Maestro is a trojan/virus?

What a ridiculous claim. Its not - I use it.

I'm going to apologize on your behalf to the people who wasted their time reading your post.

I'm also going to ask a mod if they can remove this brand new member's thread - it is clearly here to attempt to tarnish a respected bot's name.

    SWTOR Maestro is a trojan/virus?-double-facepalm-jpg

    Lol...... what?

Yes, we're installing trojans/viruses on everyone's computers. Because spending thousands of hours and investing massive financial resources into products that we put our blood and sweat into 24 hours a day 7 days a week to develop and update is an efficient way of doing that. Sending countless unintelligible "Free Money Online Casino!" emails is so 2011.

Furthermore, this is from our "checklist," which literally every user sees on every SWTOR Maestro "(DOWNLOAD)" Topic, only a few lines down from the top of each page. Reading comprehension is obviously not the OP's strong suit, and I'll point out this checklist for those who are not yet members:
    Quick Check!
    - Have you disabled all Antivirus/Security software, at least as it relates to SMS, if not entirely? ✓
    - Are you logged into Windows with an 'Administrator'-level account? ✓
    - If you're using Windows Vista or Windows 7, have you disabled Windows' "User Access Controls (UAC)"? ✓
Note in bold the first checkpoint.

The OP probably first believed emotionally that something was not quite right, and this led him to look for logical justifications for his "feeling." Most human adults move past this "method" of rationalization quite early, and some develop critical thinking skills later than others; for some, unfortunately the roots never take hold. Regardless, now my job is clear, to figure out what about SWTORMaestro.com or MMOMaestro.com might be giving people that impression. I actually never even considered users might be thinking it unsafe because of us ourselves. So, thanks.

Next time though, may I suggest having the courage to post such a grand assertion on your real OwnedCore account, or finding someone with one who shares your concern? When your first post is tarnishing the good name I've personally spent months building and continue to put every fiber of my being into improving, and your thread title asks a question which you then immediately proceed to answer definitively, it makes it difficult for anyone to take you seriously, which you may or may not already be used to. I suggest going about it another way.

    Btw, thanks Maleth

Maleth, if you read all above carefully you will see that the only software in question was yours.

Official stock DVDs could not be the problem as well as the SWTOR client.

The computer is inside a private network with no access from the outside - all other computers in the same networks are running Mac OS.

Your ftp might be compromised by a hackers that uploaded a modified version of your program - so, please, investigate.

You may question me as a stupid user, yet I'm network security specialist working for a telecom company.

I only installed all software on a freshly formatted hard drive and didn't open any websites on it.
Even your software was downloaded using a nearby MacBook.
So I do not see other possibilities that lead to infecting my fresh Windows installation.

First I was thinking it was a connection problem and called my ISP.

Together with ISP we were working on packets and traffic logs that proven the malicious trojan network activity - hundreds of thousands of packets.

Then the infected Windows installation was erased completely and it stopped the malicious packets.

It's up to you to believe this or not.

Everywhere I read comments, topics or replies, people are software engineers, network managers/specialist, Microsoft Certified thinghy's etc etc. I use Maestro, I pay my bills online, use my visa/credit card while botting, you name it, Maestro is running and I have had no problems what so ever AND I won't have anny.

Oh and ownedcore slips a very dangerous virus onto your PC which will result in you dying horribly in a fire.

    Please remove this thread.

If annyone should read this, I vouch for Maestro and I completely trust MMO Maestro, I have very good contacts with him and I'm just a costumer, scrap that, a happy costumer.

Just the fact that the OP said he installed the software on a freshly formatted hard drive downloaded on a MacBook which just happened to be nearby and it corrupted his fresh windows installation is pretty much all people need to know to realise that this guy is attempting to tarnish this bots reputation.

NO-ONE goes to that much effort when downloading a programme. To download it on a MacBook for 'increased security'. To then install it on a fresh hard drive in a fresh copy of Windows. Lol. Just lol.

How can downloading a bot be the FIRST thing you do on a freshly formatted hard drive in a fresh windows installation with the bot conveniently downloaded from a nearby MacBook. Ridiculous claim.

EDIT: Oh, and if he is the networking wiz he makes out, then i'm the Queen.

Your words mean nothing if you can't provide proof.

Also, it doesn't make sense that they would make people pay to download their "trojan". Most people will post freeware with a trojan in it cuz it is easier to get more people to download. That would be like hiding a trojan in SWTOR. It would take hours do download and install just to get one person infected. Thank you for joining and giving us a false warning but we programmers have better things to do than to make simple trojans that would get flagged and taken down in an instant. Not worth it.

Everywhere I read comments, topics or replies, people are software engineers, network managers/specialist, Microsoft Certified thinghy's etc etc.
    (I lol'd.)

Thanks for the outpouring of support, guys. I woke up to check OC and saw 11 replies, and I thought, "Oh man, this is gonna take up my morning..." So, thank you, the support was a pleasant surprise.

The OP did send me a PM, which I wish he had done originally, saying maybe a hacker had changed something,... and honestly, if there was an issue like this, we would have heard about it already. I suggest the OP use a network sniffing program (e.g., Wireshark) to determine what is eating up his DSL bandwidth. The antivirus, yes, that is because of the protection we have on Maestro, as mentioned countless times, and, as I said, indicated to users literally everywhere Maestro is available for download... the other stuff the OP is claiming has absolutely nothing to do with Maestro.

If someone else comes in to confirm what the OP is saying, or even give a modicum of credibility to it, we'll be happy to look into it further. However, as you can imagine, we're quite busy with other things... like, you know, diligently developing and supporting our products.

Maleth, denial won't change anything, at least for me.

Don't act like a rogue blond that calls everyone else a scum - check your start dll file instead - the trojan seems to be in it.

I know that many people may use your product without problems if they downloaded it sometime earlier, if, as I wrote, your FTP was compromised just recently.

MRTG graphs along with packets logs are sent to owners of the networks involved.
