This only works if your character has not progressed past liutenant vachem quest. (method of powerleveling 50k xp per minute) If you are power leveling with this method then feel free to farm the chest as a side option.

Hey guys stumbled across this leveling my barbarian in hell.

tip: This works 100% better if you are using simple map reveal. it will show if its there before you walk into the desert for nothing.

Act-2
Road to alcarnus- lieutenant vachem.

once you have finished killing the adds for quest look on your map to the east and if you see a cave shaped like a C .... run to it and take the quest. go in and you will be on a time trial. In hell mode with decent auctioned gear you can pretty much run past all the mobs, and map reveal will show you the end. once you go into the end of the time trial you will get 1 random shrine, 2 regular chest, and a resplendent chest. On my barbarian i could run past everything in about 1 minute. so this is not a bad way to make some cash.

note: If you dont see the cave simply restart the quest and look again.
note: im not sure if you can just skip to the quest right after when you are headed to alcarnus, But im sure ownedcore will give it a try.
note: I have been trying this on my witch doctor in inferno mode and i cannot seem to find the altar near the quest. Not sure if its just hell.
