Have your mercenary in Diablo fight

I've looked for it but no relevant results.

You can have your mercenary in Diablo fight, just let one of your friends join and leave your game while you're in Diablo combat. When your friend leaves the game mercenary will ask for to aid you while your fight is still going on. You must have your mercenary (Diablo will trap him/her yeah) before the Diablo combat starts to make this work.

This is a repost; its just really far back and under a bizarre title (couldn't find it after a minute so gave up). It didn't get a whole lot of attention at the time. Its definitely super-helpful.

One thing to note though that at the same time its not a great exploit; you lose the follower as soon as you enter phase 2.

Well I didn't lost my templar last time. Weird.

And there was no real results when I've searched for "Diablo", "Merc", "follower". internal search of vBulletin was always crappy.

I haven't tested it in other situations, but the situation I've used it before in is this:

1.Start diablo fight with someone else, they leave.
2.Before phase 2, you click accept on follower.
3.You push it to phase 2.
4.You lose follower for rest of fight.
