Multiboxing bots - how to?

Does anyone run multiple bots at the same time or bot and play at the same time? I was wondering what software you use to accomplish this? I heard heard ISBoxer with innerspace can accomplish this but its has a fee. Are there any open source or freeware alternatives? But if you have experience with ISBoxer I'd love to hear your feedback.

I would like to bump this since it got no responses, for anyone running multiple bots to gold farm, can you explain exactly what kind of set up you are running? VMs for each bot? Isboxer? How are you controlling all of the bots, autoIT? or a paid bot? Thanks,
