    Memory Reading Question

Hello. I am new to writing bots for games (from scratch) and am looking for some guidance. I am very comfortable with computer architecture, programming, etc, but I am a bit stuck with memory reading. I don't need help with code here, I just need help from a "pseudo-code" point of view.

I know how to read from memory, what I really want to know is how to obtain the.. "base" value? Not sure what you would call it, new to this. Basically what I'm looking for is the location of diablo3 in memory, from which I can obtain offsets for key variables, etc.

I don't want to know how to obtain this via some program, I want to be able to efficiently fetch it in whatever code I decide to write.

Also, if my assumptions of this procedss seem to be way off, please correct me! just do it constructively please.

    Thanks
