Does anybody know what affects the mission results, other than affection and the companion's crew skill bonuses?

What I'm trying to gather is the schematics for creating augments. However, I'm wondering if there is an equal chance of getting a crit from a moderate yield quest as from a rich yield. If so, it would take less time and less money to gather what I am looking for.

On a second note, I have heard that you can only get these augment schematics from critting the Sliced Tech Parts missions. So far, this has been the case from me, but I gave up sending my companions out for lockboxes after Grade 1. Can anybody confirm that this is truly the case?

i think you have to crit when you craft an item to get it augmented

Cirtical Crafting:

You get x2 of the item if you're biochem. For exotech you get x4 instead of x3.
You get x2 of the item if you're cybertech.
You get "augmented" versions of the item you created if you're any of the armor-building/weapons professions.
You get purple mats if you critical on gathering progressions, some of these give you patterns (slicing, diplomacy), or birthright gear (investigation), or more of the items you were looking for.
Critically lockboxing for Treasure Hunting/Slicing gives you either blue lockboxes or a mission discovery, or a green version of the lockbox.
You can also get purple versions of what you were looking for if you crit. (So say you do a companion gift, it would normally give a green, you get a blue, if blue a purple.)
