Yes that would.

Unless the keys are bypassing the camera position for that. Seeing your weapons is unachievable. Only works on speeders which is quite saddening.

Esc --> Prefrences -- Keybindings tab at the bottom --> Camera.

For Zoom in and Zoom out select two alternative keys to bind to. Hit apply, and feel free to look at the different zoom points that are skipped by the Mouse Wheel.
