    A few questions about botting...

First of all I'd like to say that I have experience in C, C# and C++ so the complexity doesn't really matter.

Okay... Spo I'd like to make a bot for WoW. I'm not doing this to make a profit, just to learn and get a bot for free. I am aiming to make a grindbot, but I have no idea where to start. I know I need to learn memory reading/writing but that's it.

Can anybody give me a list of topics I will need to research in order to finish my bot?

    Also, C, C# or C++?

Like any project you will want to setup your goal and observed features of current bots.

Grind bot; what does that entail?
navigating the world firstly imo(collision detection, pathfinding, mounting, portaling from zones to zone/continent to continent)
    skill sequence
    looting
avoiding other people and their trickery

i don't know the inner working of bots; just what i see but mostly it's up to what is the most comfortable and fluent with you. C# and C++ both see action but from different people (cypher n apoc respectively iirc)

Think before you post. You can only get smarter by playing a smarter opponent.

Thanks, I'll definitely keep what you've said in mind.

I'm more comfortable with C# so I'll go with that

I would use C++ but most people use C# around mmowned.
You have 2 options, in-process and out of process. In-process you will write to wow, this can be detected by warden if it updates. Out of process does not write to wow, so its a little more safe. Ill explain an in-process bot b/c its more fun

You need eyes, so look into an object manager.
This will allow you to see all information about your character and others, like location, health and more...
BlackRain C# Object manager (Needs to be updated)

You will need DoString and GetLocalizedText funtions.
You then can use most wow lua apis, World of Warcraft API - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft
You can use attacks, execute macros, outputs and more... Just take a look at the list above
    ihook C# hook
http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...lackmagic.html If you want to code it all out

    You will need to move...
look into CTM.. everone uses that
Im not so good with nav systems so I only use point to point and not mesh... If your going pro look into NavMesh
If you use point to point you will need to look at line of site...
    Nav Stuff http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...pper-step.html

That is about it for main components...
