Phased Booty Bay for AH sniping

Hi guys, about time for me to do some posting! This guide is "inspired" by trytry's post (Modified Auctioneer - Automated Neutral AH Buyout Ninja) in the Bots and Programs forum.

So you want to snipe the neutral AH huh? You can do it legitly or you can bot it, i don't care, but if you want to bot it you should go check out CrysisMK2's (Modified Auctioneer - Automated Neutral AH Buyout Ninja).

The main problem with sniping, especially if you are botting, is that raging thirteen-years-olds come and kill you after you snatch their epics. How can we avoid that? Flying to Everlook? Not discreet enough. What you want to do is get into a phased version of Booty Bay, where no others than those few level 30s on the same quest as you can see you.

You want to go to Booty Bay and locate this guy;

First Mate Crazz


...and get the quest "The Bloodsail Buccaneers". This unlocks a rather long but quick quest chain up to Seeing Where Your Loyalties Lie, this will let you do pirate quests on two of the pirate ships.

YOU HAVE TO COMPLETE ALL OF THESE QUESTS!

When reporting for duty on the third ship, you will discover the attack plans, and you need to accept the three quests;
The Brashtide Crew
Sinking From Within
Making Mutiny
This includes sabotaging one item on each ship, killing one quest mob on each ship, and killing 9 Corsairs.

When completed you get the quest;
Call of Booty - Quest - World of Warcraft
followed by one "Go inside and find that item" and one "Bring that item back to me"-quests.

When you pick up Return to Revilgaz you will be in a phased Booty Bay!

Unfortunately there's no mailboxes, you would need to go fly to SW/Blasted Lands or take the boat to Ratchet to pick up snipes. (or hearth or use a remote mailbox)

I suggest going to the auctioneer in the lower decks to not be spotted by the lowbies questing there for minimum suspicion!

That's true, but most people do have a 30-70 toon they never use. I use a death knight myself.

Theres still mailboxes and etc in this phase? logging out and back in doesnt bump you from the phase? if not my AH sniper might be making a trip around STV lol

Unfortunately no mailboxes, you would need to go to Explorers League Digsite or Hardwrench Hideaway. Phase stays on relog so thats cool

+ rep indeed, used to bot the AH sniping all the time, then they figured out that I snipe and no-one trades when I'm online lol.

The lack of a mailbox makes this a bit less useful than i had hoped, still a nice find to avoid raging Xfaction abuse.

I wonder if abandoning the quest un-phases you again, gives you access to the mailbox and then lets you accept the quest again?

Use the portable guild bank to x-fer items if you own your own guild.

It's more just about retrieving the items that you just sniped from the auction house...
I don't really see how a portable guild bank is going to help and I doubt many will bother to level engineering for the mailbox (if it's even available at that level) just to snipe.

I was wondering the same thing, will investigate!

EDIT: Nope, the phasing is when you finish the Doublerum quest, so the only way to get out of the phase is to finish the quests.

I really don't understand what your point is. What has "it sitting in your mailbox for a few hours" have to do with this?

1) We in a phased zone.
2) We snipe an item
3) We are going to want to get that item to our mains to sell before it's price devalues or demand falls, or just because we want the gold ASAP.
4) It would be preferable that we didn't have to run all the way to the next camp in order to use the mailbox, hence the question about unphasing.

I really don't understand what the point to your question is. It's irrelevant whether we retrieve the mail immediately after sniping, or 2 months later. The fact remains that there is no mail box.
