How does your sh*t know when you're almost home?

K so im drivin' home today, and it occurred to me that I always have to take a hefty shit right as I get stuck in traffic when I'm less than a mile from home. Wtf is that? Puts a new perspective on the term "shit-brains" doesn't it? Anyone else experience this strange phenomena?

It's all in the mind, I think.

My father always had to excrete somethin' fierce when snooping, or anything of the like (happened whenever I'd take him exploring around abandoned buildings and the like). No idea if it still happens, but most likely :P

Yes, it is indeed in the mind, I remember that I always have to pee when I was hiding in wait to scare somebody. Think it has to do with excitement/anxiety or the like. But if we think of how the brain works and what it learns. Saliva is being prepared in your mouth the moment you see food i.e drooling. A function to help you chew and swallow properly. So you don't even have to have food in your mouth for it to happen. Pawlow had an experiment where he rang a bell and dogs got their food and they started to drool. Bell>Food>Drool

But when he introduced the bell, the dogs associated the ring with food. Which means he could switch the effect of drooling from seeing the food to hearing the bell ring. Thus: Bell>Drool

I would suppose that there is something of the like in your situation... The body knows you are on your way home, and it activates too early since it has learned to read the wrong signs.
