Guide to .go where you really want to go

ok so say you find your self at the bottom of a cliff and you can seem to make it to the top, or you are infront of an invisble wall and you need to make it through....

There are four(4) parts to a .go command:
    • The mapid
    • "X" value (North/South)
    • "Y" value (West/East)
    • "Z" value (Height)

Now the first thing you need to do is establish where you want to go. so lets try Old Ironforge as an example. get by where it is you want to go and type ".gps" (may vary depending on emu) you should get something like "mapid: 0 X: -4842.4735 Y: -1060.0123 Z: 502.2693 Orientation: 0.0000

you see alot of random numbers after the "." ignore them, they are unneeded most of the time unless you need to be really accurate. altough, if one is 563.9534, make sure to round it off to 564 instead.

To get infront of the door to Old Ironforge
    try .go 0 -4842.5 -1060 502.2
you should be infront of the door
Now what do we need to change to get you to move forward to the door? change the Y value, seeing as the door is east to your current postion. so if we want to go west, the Y needs to go higher, and lower for east. the current Y value is at about -1060 , so we need to change that and make it lower. rember this one is in the negatives, so well try to make it -1065 maybe? so we come out with:
    .go 0 -4842.5 -1065 502.2

Guess what? It works! you go east and it sets you in the door!

Now lets try to get ontop of IF in the same postion
    we still are working with:
    .go 0 -4842.5 -1060 502.2
now we need to change the last value (Z) higer in order to get higher up! we need alot to get to the top of IF, so lets try changeing Z from 502.2 to.. 602?
no no, only 100 more wont be enough for this! 700? 800? 900?!

yep, 900 did the trick! you over shoot it a little bit but by jumping in place you fall to normal ground. now walk around and ecplore highest peak, gates of IF IF airport ect. till you are ready to move on

    Ready? lets try hyjal!
K we got a new command to work with
    .go 1 4833 -1766 1164
This should take you right infront of the instance in the middle of hyjal... lets see whats inside! k you need to go a bit north to get in this way, so change the X value to make it higher (Higher = north-er, Lower = South-er)
lets cahnge it from 4833..to 4843.. also a tip, if you are going somewhere and you notice the terrian changes heights, make sure to change Z as well, a bit higher, because its better to be floating above ground then to be falling under it. 1164 to...1166! so we get....
    .go 1 4843 -1766 1166
YAY! it worked, we are past the wall!

    So to sum it up:
    • Map ID: 0 is Eastern Kingdoms, 1 is Kalimdor. Changeing this changes that zone/map dont worry about this to much, you cant really change only it and end up in an accurate location
    • X: North and South value, make the number higher to move more north, and lower to move more south
    • Y: West and East, higher number makes you further west, lower makes you futher east
    • Z: Your height! Obviously, higher makes YOU, higher lower makes you lower.

Don't put the name of the values in the .go command, they are unneeded, as it will recognize the order.

toy around with this enough, and you will get the hang of it and get where ever you need. works great for TBC sandbox, as you have no blink or auto-unstuck to use.

I know im no Cush ( ), im not very good at making guides but, if it aint broke dont fix it, and if it is broke, let it be someone elses problem (Does that even fit the sentance? Lol.)

    @tayea

    1. Make sure you're typing in .go instead of /go
    2. make sure you made your plevel in the dbutil 4 or above, if you didn't you aren't a GM or better

Re: Guide to .go where you really want to go

The commands are slightly different on mine. I have Mangos 1.12.1.

For the go command, I have to put the map ID at the end of the command. For example,

    .go 2343 -23423 23432 1

For the add command, I have to use this: .additem [guid]

I don't know why this is. But a lot of commands just don't work. I can't set speed, size, delete, kill, resurrect, etc.

Re: Guide to .go where you really want to go

Ive figured the .go commands out on my own. :P
Btw, to edit mangos speed, size, hp, mana and spells, you need to use .modify
ex: .modify aspeed 50 (modifys all speed directions to the max)
    kill - .die
    resurrect - .revive
    respawn - .respawn
    delete - .del or .delete
add creature - .addspw [how many] [id#]
