    [Request] Object Manager for Rift

    Hey hackers. While I'm not a complete newbie to reverse engineering, I'm also no great shakes at finding things like the object manager in WoW. I'm not very familiar with the tools (CE is the one I use most, but only for single-player games) and, while I'm eager and capable of learning (preferably w/ guidance), I would rather get my app out ASAP.

    So what am I looking for? An object manager in Rift that contains the objects currently available in client memory. I only really need the following: Name, Type, X coordinate, Y coordinate. If you could help me, I would consider it a kindness. I will be modifying my radar app to use interchagable IO frameworks for different MMOs. I don't need any code, just the addresses/offsets, and how they point to one another.

    You can find the object manager with CE. Well, thats the way i do. Dont know how you will find it with a debugger / disassembler.
    What's the point in giving you the address and the offsets and you can't update them?

    e/ okay, i've looked at your WoW Radar. Looks cool, i made something like this too (for another mmo)
    Just bought the game, i'll take a look at the manager. Shouldn't be hard to find D:

    @Elektrochemie, you are wrong, terribly wrong.

    First off its not called an object manager it is an entity, secondly it is extremely if not impossible to completely reverse it with just the knowledge you get from CE.
    This game takes the concept of OOP extremely seriously and you will get lost if you are not submerged in this type of programming/reversing. I wish you the best of luck trying to figure it out via CE but there is a limited possibility of correctly understanding how it works.

    The game uses the Gamebryo engine; if one could find the source (or the binaries) for a recent version it would probably be a good head start into working out the entity system.

    The game uses a HEAVILY modified version of Gamebryo engine.

    Object manager prob. isnt exactly where you want to start... although, I havent got to look inside riftgame.exe yet... Id say start with something more simple like player base and go from there, thats prob. what ill be doing here soon. Good luck! happy coding!
