I was wondering what language would be the best for a beginner planning on building his own bot?
Cheers!

C++
then you can go for C# and bots
Finally i got my own personal signature :wave:
Why is everyone so "must code bots"? C++ is way more fun to code in.

Yes, because spending 10x the time on getting something done the right way is just so fun.
c# or java, both are fairly easy to learn and have real world advantages (can get a job that pays real money).
Languages like C# are made on base of another full languages like C++ to make things easy for their specific target
For C# this target is windows apps - but C++ can be used for almost anything
You may ask yourself "then why i don't use C++?"
Because there is a ton of data and sources around "bot programing" in C# since most ppl use this language for these kind of things.
Same for Java and J#
Coders correct me if I'm wrong

They're all general-purpose languages. Your point is invalid based on just that...Languages like C# are made on base of another full languages like C++ to make things easy for their specific target

If this is going to be your criterion you might as well learn COBOL, or FORTRAN, or asm, or C, or any of the old languages. There are plenty of legacy systems that need to be maintained...
But C# is less painful to read and write. Java, a little bit more painful than C# - but nothing like COBOL.
I am currently watching cobol developers be pushed out of jobs at my work thanks partially to the work of people like me. We are porting all of the legacy mainframe stuff to server based apps( a little over 7k developers on the project). Cobol, Fortran and the likes are being removed thanks to the IBM price model and mid-range systems now coming on par with mainframe speed and reliability. When we do hire legacy developers we normally get them dirt cheap since they are so eager to be relevant again (under 100k) which is pretty sad.

Went and got my AA in computer programming. My school bragged and bragged about how there one of the only schools left that teaches COBOL so throughly. Then 2 years later I know a little Java little c++ a few others, and a shit ton of COBOL and cant find anywhere around here that hasn't been trying to phase out of COBOL. That and COBOL sucks to code anyway.
Autoit, C# and maybe some C++
