Tutorial: Shine effect. make sigs and logos look great!!

I am going to teach you how to add a glowing effect to graphics... this effect makes things like logos look more modern and professional.

There are probably different techniques on how to do this... but I am going to teach you how I do it. It works preety well and its quick.

    Eliptical shine:
    This is the simple one.

    1. Open your graphic in photoshop
    2. make a new layer and fill the layer with a white color (does not have to be white)
    3. Lower the opacity of the layer to about 20%

    4. Click on the elliptical marquee tool and make an oval on the middle like so:

    5. Now erase that part
    6. some tweaking might be required... I lower the opacity a bit, but whatever works for you.

Obviously I didnt use the best picture for my example but it looks better on full pictures... also, you can add this effect to the text only.

    Swirl shine:

    1. Do steps 1-3.
    2. click on the line tool and make a line in an angle.

    3. Now go to edit+transform+warp
    4. Make the line the shape you want.

    5. now rasterize the line and use the marque tool to move it.

    6. Now hide the layer you made the line in and choose the layer with the white background.
    7. Erase the area within the line and below it.
    8. Lower the opacity of the layer.

    -----------

make sigs that look like this.

    Even logos (by me)
