Old threads, WHAT'S NEW & moderators

I realise this is a very rare situation but I feel I should say it anyway; since it nailed me :P

1. #Random User# posts in a 2 month old thread.
2. #Moderator# deletes post.
3. #Active User# uses "WHAT'S NEW" and uknowingly(?) recieves 2 month old thread in results.
4. #Active User# implies that the thread is NEW and replies.
5. #Moderator# gives infraction and locks thread.

Though stage 2 the thread could've been closed.
At stage 3, the thread should'nt of been shown in the given results. <Bug.

it is unfortunate however it is easy to simply read the date of the thread. However we should evaluate each case individually, however we simply do not have the time for it.
We will look into getting it fixed, thank you for your report...
