[Exploit] Play a Perma-Banned Character (PTR)

For those of you like me who have had accounts banned in the past, and wish to play a character again for mostly nostalgic reasons.
I had an account banned over 3 years ago with my level 60 on it, and one over a year and a half ago with my level 70.
I found a way to play both of these toons on the ptr and the insane amount of nostalgia I got from remembering my old gear and what they had in the bags and banks was awesome.

So heres what you do:

1. Link the account to a battle.net account.
2. Go to the ptr character copy page and you should be able to select the banned accounts.
3. Find the characters you wanna copy and copy them over.
4. Log on to the ptr and they should be there.

This worked for me multiple times and I had alot of fun messing about on them.

Still working for me I just copied another. You have to have multiple account and one that isnt banned on there and able to use to ptr.

I go to WoW -> Test Realm Patch Notes and click the first link that reads Test Realm Page, then copy character and it asks me what account I want to use. I select the banned one and it shows the characters on it.

PTRs are down. Probably why.

You're on US realms, we are on EU, doesnt seem to work for EU tho

This works because PTR's take 'snapshots' of accounts in batches. If your account was active during the snapshot, the account is active for the PTR. Same as how I was able to play on PTRs when my live account ran out of time, just play for however long on the PTR.

Passwords are also affected - you have to have the same password as the exact moment the snapshot was taken, which leads to alot of problems sometimes (unless your password stays the same).

Accounts that went under the radar or are newly created battle.net (like the OP) should work (I'm not confirming it does) or were active during the snapshot that was taken of them will work on the PTR.

Fun fact: You can hack on the PTR and your live account will not be banned - I wasn't, all my friends weren't, even the person I would BG and hack with on the PTR had a post about us on the PTR hacking and nothing happened to us on the PTR or Live.

I have had 9 accounts on WoW banned. I am currently on my 10th. LOOL!

I can now vouch this works, i also had the

"You are unable to access this page because this license is banned, locked, or suspended."

But you just need to go on via the wow-eu website, i do love you for this just to see my old accounts x
