    Passing Keystrokes into wow Question

So First off, I got carpal tunnel and now I cant spam the LightningBolt button in raids any more(I have bad wireless internet so I typically have to spam it a lot) So I'm going to write a program to do it for me, but I have a few questions about passing button presses hopefully some one knows the answer to.

I was planning on writing a program in java, c# or c++ that would do this(tl;dr version):
When I press a particular key, say 2 for LB it would automatically keep rapidly spamming 2 for the next ~1second or so.

So my big question is: Is there a wrong way(or right way) to pass key presses into wow? aka is there a 'wrong' way that triggers an insta-ban or something?
