    Some Free MMORPGs

    Atlantica Online
Atlantica Online is a Free to Play / Item Mall based MMOG by NDOORS Interactive. The game features traditional JRPG-styled turn based combat (a'la Final Fantasy) and allows players to assemble groups of up to 8 player-controlled mercenaries to utilize in battle.
Fun to play if you like fantasy mmorpg's and you like Final fantasy turn-based combat.

    Battle of the Immortals
Battle of the Immortals is a free-to-play MMORPG.
The game is 2.5D and incorporates story elements from both Eastern and Western culture, ranging anywhere from Norse mythology to the Qin dynasty. The game features a number of classes, and allows for players to enhance their characters based on their birthdate using the Zodiac System. Battle of the Immortals also features ranked PvP and a territory war system, and hardcore PvE through epic dungeons and PvE time trials.
Additional features of Battle of the Immortals include pets and mounts.
Great looking new mmo in a diablo-style gameplay (the game is 3D though, but no free view, so it's classified as 2.5D) Good graphics, fast progression and good UI.

    Requiem
A 3D horror MMO from Korea, Requiem: Bloodymare takes place in an era feeling the effects of long-ago experiments and war with science and magic that went horribly wrong. The world is now barren, full of poison and mutants, These mysterious and horrible creatures are a threat to the fragile society that still exists, placing its hope upon an energy source once responsible for the world's destruction, as its potential savior.
Players can join the fight to protect the rebirth of humanity. Requiem features 3D horror graphics and gore using the Havok engine for realistic physics. Players can fight special monsters that only come out at night for special loot, turn their characters into powerful beasts to increase their strength and prowess, and enhance their weapons in many different combinations.
The game is free to play, but optional subscriptions reduce XP loss on death and increase stat gains considerably among other benefits. There is also an item shop.
If you are tired of childish games like most (if not all) of todays fantasy mmorpg games, this is the game for you. It has some beautiful scenery and nice blood and gore effects (also ragdoll corpses, limbs and stuff fly everywhere, GREAT FUN) The UI etc. is a bit outdated though. (and the game gets boring quite fast)

    Allods
An import of Russia's most successful MMO, Allods Online brings people to the world of the popular fantasy franchise where they can adventure, compete and fight in a classic RPG experience.
Allods is perhaps the best looking free fantasy mmorpg out there now, game has great controls, UI and graphics. Combat is also pretty fun. Developers have been a bit lazy during beta, so lots of hackers and many left, but a good game still.

    Runes of Magic
Runes of Magic is a fantasy MMORPG that is set in Taborea, a land undergoing the usual turmoil. Players can run story missions, take on quests, and train their skills. There are also dungeon sieges and, for the PvPers, solo and guild on guild battles.
Notable features of Runes of Magic include a dual-class system in which players can blend character traits for more versatile fighters, player houses and guild castles that can be expanded with additional buildings, and the runes of the title, which can be applied to gear interchangeably, making one's outfit and look truly custom.
There are also frequent content updates. Best of all, it's free to play, with an optional item shop.
Maybe the most popular free "wow-clone" nowadays. pretty decent game, not that much to say of it.

    I'd like to add
Tibia is a MMORPG created by CipSoft GmbH. It is one of the oldest MMORPGs and was considered most noteworthy in its early years; however, with the development of MMORPGs its popularity has grown much slower than others gaming communities. Its most unique aspect is being in a 2D environment, which is expected to contribute to the slow growth of the game as the gaming community rapidly shifted to 3D. It was first released in January 1997.[2] It is a free game which is open to the public, though players have the option to pay a fee in order to upgrade to a premium account, granting special in-game benefits, including additional areas to explore, access to vocation promotions, and extra spells.
Tibia is also playable on mobile phone Quite a nice way of spending time if you are in trip not been able to play WoW

good work for mentioning Allods (Y)

and also it's out of Beta now (there were huge patches)

+ the game mostly revolves around quests, not mob killing - i.e. the game has been designed to make sure hackers can't get much benefit. I've been playing for a short while and am yet to see any hackers - nor have i seen any up to date hacks for the new patches. o__O ...we could change that though

problem with allods is it pretty much becomes unplayable at mid-level unless you start using the cash shop. Then you start having to spend more than you would on WoW

Tibia - Free Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game - MMORPG

The game that started it off for me.

Never played a game that created so much tension and paranoia.

And there were times when allods were going to be completely free and designers promised us that they'll never add any type of transactions...

Runes Of Magic is a decent game, but my biggest "beef" with F2P Online Games are the cash shops, that once you get anywhere they seem to become more of a need than an "option"

You might wanna check out The 4th Coming: "Players travel through the world unlocking quests, battling monsters in real-time, making allies, etc. The stat point system allows people to create their characters as they wish. By being able to choose their alignment, players are able to experience two sides of the storyline. The game also contains many different visuals, a chat system, has huge areas, and contains a wide variety of weapons and spells." The game was released back in 1999, changed it's license owner. There are some f2p servers mostly with some fees here and there and it is possible to find a french site with original server files but it's sort of outdated.
