Mage Noob Question

I just started a new Mage. I was wondering, what would be a good spec to kill the environment very quickly? Also, what are the top three things (1 being the most needed to 3 being the least needed)a mage needs?

Or do I have it all wrong? :P

AGI is BS for casters, dont take it. And go PvE for leveling yes. Frost is best no matter what <3

ive spent over 500g on respeccing. For arena, PvP, PVe Farming, etc. Plus i made a mistake riught after i respecced ont he first talent lol.

I like it, a combo of both but a frost spec. nice freeze and pyro for arena and cone / nova for massive PvP or BG and stuff.

It's up to how you play and your plans.

yeah fire always screwed me over with CDs. I just used everything and waited for blast wave, dragon, pyro, eh.

I myself prefer the three minute spec ( Arcane power-Presence of Mind- Pyroblast- fireblast- blastwave) This is incredible for Arenas! Th CDs also go up surprisisngly quick and in instances I find myself using this about every other pull.

However for leveling frost tends to be better because it uses less mana. Fire kills a lot faster but down time is pretty bad. I think people underestimate arcane as well. Although not as effective at early levels it is good for both PvE and PvP.

I suggest the build i used to use to level - POM PYRO! Chuck in whatever talents you think will be handy, ones to improve your mana efficiency, reduce cast times, improve survivability and increase range are always good. Good luck with the best class in the game

I loved fire for leveling, didn't really have to drink that often and the mobs went down fast.
