Hero edit and lan

I havnt played diablo 2 that much. Me and a bunch of friends are starting up a lan. Since i started a couple weeks after them im going to use hero editor to catch up.

What will i be able to do/not be able to do in lan after i use hero editor?

I dont plan on giving myself any items or extra stats just level up to 30 and give myself the appropriate stats / skill points.

There is not anything you will not be able to do by modifying your character. You will be able to complete your quests and everything easily or add them in the editor. Just remember that if you add certain quests as completed, you wont get the reward from them. Some of which are skill ups.
