Highlights of the week (19 July 09)

    Highlights of the week

This week has been quite interesting. Here’s a little overview of this week’s interesting happenings.

Halloween, showing us new playable races?: As many of you know, at Halloween you can collect masks. There is a mask for every playable race but earlier this week scrollsoflore.com discovered that Worgen and Goblin masks had been added to the game files. I guess we will have to see why...But many people including me feel this could be a hint at the next expansion.

    Patch 3.2 Downloader:
The Patch 3.2 downloader started for many this week. The PTR is still up so it’s most likely just to make some head way for the download of patch 3.2 on its release. Many people over the last few weeks have been complaining of patches coming out way to quick after the one before. Many people agree that Blizzard may need to slow down a bit but then I suppose in these dark financial times they need to make sure the game is as fun as possible to not loose any more customers.

Iphone Armory: Blizz released there armory application a couple of days ago. The app allows you to view many things such as: Char info (Including gear etc.), Talent calculators, PVP leader boards, the latest Blizz news and much much more. If you would like to see it in action or download it then go here. When I first heard
about this I struggled to find any use for it. Now, I’ve been a party leader of one or two pugs, I know how good it is. You don't even have to leave your game client, you just grab your Iphone/touch.

Arena teams get 3k rating: Two 3v3 teams from the battlegroup Bloodlust (US) managed to get a shocking 3k rating! Many teams are aiming to follow "big furious joke" and "sup fresh our turn baby" to this amazing high. Though, with it being so high many are suspicous of this achievement.

Well that’s it from me this week. Hopefully something earth shattering will happen over the week.

Can't it be that it are just masks for fun? Worgen doesn't fit in the lore neither for alliance or Horde and goblins are neutral forever. I think the masks are just for fun.

Master, they planned worgen to be in WoW in the begining, in the expansion list that you see you could see a worgen town and a Pandaren town, however they prolly wont do Pandas, but Goblins would make most sense on horde, since they always compete w/ gnomes and couldn't see them being on the same side w/ them. Worgen could be a problem, since they are innately evil and cause destruction. However, since they come from another dimension that is relatively unknown other than the studies made by Ur, there could be a few 'good' remnants of Worgen. Which also could lead to 'going' to that dimension to start out as a Woren. Someone could also advance Ur's studies using 'The Book of Ur' and actually find a way to summon the worgen, and communicate with them further. There are many ways to fit both of these races into the lore.

    Agree

I agree with Mastergold, I read lore, detailed lore, and worgen don't fit the picture in my opinion. Putting Worgen in the game as a playable race seems awkward to me. Though this doesn't mean it will be impossible. Blizzard has done more lorefixing so certain aspects would fit into it, which otherwise wouldn't.

it does so fit into lore. Gilneas could have gone half worgen and still remain in control of themselves. they almost became a part of the alliance in wotlk if you did grizzly hills, seems fitting that gilneas would fall in with the alliance. it does break on the typical "we will not accept abominations" rule of the alliance, though i can see king wrynn making the alliance more accepting of them after his acceptance of the DKs and they're help in saving the world from LK (it may not have happened YET but they are a big part of the plot)

and goblins being purely neutral? BS there are quite a few goblins that are horde friendly alliance hostile. very much possible that there could be a complete group of them that will go pure horde.

So long as Pandarens are on Alliance, I'm happy. They would be, too. They love beer. Dwarves love beer. Simple.
