[Utility] Backup and Downgrade to 3.0.1

Did you forget to make a backup of WoW before upgrading to 3.1? Don't worry! Download and run this batch file from your desktop to solve all your problems.

    Backup and Downgrade to 3.1.bat

    Here's what it does:

    1. A console window will appear, showing files being copied from "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\" to a folder on your desktop called "Warcraft Backup"
    2. After all files have been backed up to your desktop, it will delete the patch files in "Warcraft Backup"
    3. After the batch files in the backup are deleted it will run Repair.exe. At this point you have to click the "Check Files Only" button. It will tell you that Warcraft is seriously damaged, click OK. When the Repair Utility is done running, click OK and you will be at version 3.0.1.
    4. The Launcher will now start and begin patching, let it patch until you arrive at the desired version.

Or you can just do the most logic thing with out having to download this and go into your data folder and delete "Patch.MPQ" and run a repair and click check files only, THEN make a copy of your wow folder..

If you follow your instructions, you will have 2 copies of 3.0.1 on your machine. The point is to backup WoW, then downgrade the backup. This way you will have a version compatible with your private server as well as an up to date version to play on the official servers with.

I understand that the steps involved in a manual downgrade are really quite simple and that most people are smart enough to do it themselves. This batch file simply automates the process in case someone get confused reading poorly written guides on how to do it.
