Okay right now I am using gimp to do all of my graphics and I keep wondering how do people erase the background of a potrait of a character ond then Layer it on top of a different background.

Yeah, an easy photoshop too, it already being on a solid color background.

Is photoshop free? If so, were can I download it. If not, were can i get free ware like it

Look around, i believe a full version has been posted a few times.

It's not freeware, but you can get the full version of it easilly.

You can also get a trial of it that will eventually expire.
