    [WIP] New Stromgarde

Well, figured I would, hopefully, come out of leecher status and share my pet project I have going on right now. This is New Stromgarde. I basically started with a clean slate in that the only thing that was left was the terrain and it's textures so everything has been done by hand. I haven't finished creating the lore behind it yet and is still majorly a WIP, but I think it is coming along very well. Hope you enjoy. Comments and suggestions welcome!

    Old Build:

    *UPDATE*
Well after roughly a two month hiatus I decided to return to the project, however daunting it may be, lol. I have begun reshaping much of the layout and adding quite a bit and have also begun texturing, specifically roads and sidewalks, with some good success thanks in part to a select mdx, haha. Much has been done and there is still much to do!

Here is the link to the new build:

As always, any comments, questions or suggestions welcome.

nice work so far, but although that this is "clearly" a WIP, i think you're overlooking the fact that Stromgarde Keep was once Strom. The first ever human settlement and kingdom... this isn't a small village. you have farms... are there farms in sw? no. you're using grass as a base? dude, this is no village... this is a city twice the size fo sw if not larger. get with it xD

    good job so far

p.s. you should join tfe, we're making nice progress on this kind of thing tbh xD pm 4 details if ur interested

No, no...haha. There are over 500 mdxs so far in just one of the adt files and countless more in the others for this edit. I basically started with a clean slate by wiping the mdxs and wmos. Lol, the wall alone was a good bit of work. The original Stromgarde wall was only one wmo, whereas mine is around 60. I hear what you're saying though, but like I said still a major WIP. Not exactly sure where I want to take this edit, but we shall see. Thanks for the comment!

Hmm, perhaps you're right. Perhaps I wasn't thinking along a big enough scale. Stromgarde was once a port city as well, so I think I'll look into expanding the city itself to a commons type of area and move the farms and such outside into the countryside while maintaining the stronghold in the center of the city.

    *EDIT*

Although, if Stromgarde was supposed to be larger, where are the rest of the ruins? lol If you have any specific lore, point me in that direction.

    Looks quiet awsome
Some texturing Failures but in the whole thing it is ... awsome

For all the others this isnt just a area change or sth. like that... he worked with the adts and not with the object files... so that was a huge ton of work.

I would love it ,if more people do something like that.

Thank you very much! Yeah, the texturing is nowhere near done; just a rough outline. The screens I took don't really show a lot of the detail work I have done thus far. On a side note, I'm having a little trouble deciding how I want to expand the layout of Strom. I will probably open up the wall on the ocean side and put a port back there, but just not sure about the rest of the city. Any suggestions would be welcome!

nothing new under the sun dude - the WoW map is dreadfully inacurate. WoW had to take into account that in the game, strom was going to be ruins and therefore didn't overdo it. play warcraft 3, about a third of the day thru u go to strom. check it out, it's massive. if you wana create a strom to that scale, you will need to do a bit of terrain editing. flatten the mountains, move them, w.e. wowwiki for lore.

Yeah, I've researched it quite a bit, but didn't find much to attest to the scale. Now that you mention it I do remember Strom in WC3, good stuff. But, yeah I had already planned to do some serious terrain editing.
