[WAMP] Make a WebServer (With pictures, very newbie friendly)

I am hunting for rep, cause I haven't used my account for 1.5 years, so I don't want to be a lazy l33cher any more.

I will try to make this as noob friendly as possible

Arcemu Website - Filebeam - Free Fast File Hosting

(either someone can't give credits, or somebody can't choose between nicknames. The one who has the post to the website is Nady, the credits in the Index.HTML page are for insanesk8123, and the name of the file is Gallefizks WebPage.rar, I mean I can explain this easily, but this is too long)


WAMP Server 2 - Download WampServer 2 - Download PHP, apache, MySQL

OK so here are the steps you have to do:

1. Download WAMP Server 2
2. Installing WAMP
2.5. Port Forwarding (Optional, only with people with a router)
3. Adding the website files
4. Testing out the site



1. Download WAMP Server 2

This is probobly the easiest step of the bunch.

*You simply click the link above, and download the WAMP server.





2. Installing WAMP

This is pretty straight-forward.

*Launch the WAMP Installation file

*Click Next





*Click on the I accept the Agreement





*Select your installation folder (Mine is C:\wow server\wamp





*Select the place(s) where you want to add a shortcut (if you want to)





*Just click Next





*Wait till the installation finishes





*If you have Mozilla Firefox you will be prompted this window. Click Yes, cause it will make things a bit more simple in some rare places. I mean it's not like it's gonna install some random crap on your PC...





*Leave the hostname on "Localhost" and change the e-mail if you want. But it isn't very important.





*Click Finish and it's gonna start the WAMP server





*Check your system tray, and depending if you have MySQL the icon will appear like this


*Left click on the icon and click Put online



*Now your icon will appear like this after a second or two




2.5. Port Forwarding (Optional, only with people with a router)

***YOURS MIGHT BE VERY DIFFERENT! THIS WILL HELP WITH GREATEST EFFECT IF YOU HAVE A Planet ROUTER!!!***

*Type 192.168.0.1 in the address bar of your internet browser





*Insert the information of your account (if you don't know the information, ask the owner of the router, or the local administrator for it... nicely.)





*Now if you own a Planet router your screen will look like this. Click on General Setup





*Click on NAT





*Click on Port Forwarding




*Insert your static IP, choose both or TCP + UDP (depending on the router brand) port range 80 - 80, and comment (optional) Website.




*Now, If you are running ArcEmu, Your port list should be something like this



Note - If you are running MaNGOS, your port list will be the same, but without 8129, and 8085 instead of 8093


3. Adding the website files

*First, download a website (nady @ MMOwned.com (link to the website above) is a good bet if you want a simple website on arcemu or Kitten @ WoWps.org if you have mangos and want a nice website, if you got some basic HTML skills you can make the website look a bit nicer, I edited mine so the website won't look 100% like yours might appear.)





*Open your Wamp folder (C:\Wow Server\WAMP for me)




*Copy your website files into the www folder (make sure the index.html file is in the www folder, not some sub-folder)

4. Testing out the site

*Does the title confuse you? Well then that's too bad, cause all you have to do is write - 127.0.0.1 in the adress bar in your internet browser, or if you have a DynDNS account (something.hostname.lol) then tell your friends or whatever to insert the DynDNS adress into their adress bar, or you can write it yourself, and check if it works.



As you can see, it works for me, and yes - you can join. I just started the server, so practicly no people.

I have a question for you does this website set the account flags to wrath of the lichking if it doesn't how can i edit mine or this registration page to fit my needs?

Hmm.... Well, I fixed that issue. You have to edit index.php, search for "8", and replace the 8 with 54. That should make it automaticly set the flags to The Lich King when registering. Hope I helped. :P

How do I make the website puplic, so other people can enter it. I tried to make a Hostname on DynDNS.com but I have no idea what to do next.

I'm not very good with websites, but I'm having the same issue with any website pack I download.

I just compiled ArcEmu 3.0.8 and have been trying to get a website working for days.
I configure everything that I can think of, and with all of them when I goto the account creation page and put the info in and hit create it goes to a blank page and just sits there, no errors and no account created.
