Game review is based on author's experience.
So, the game many have been waiting for, Far Cry 2 has hit the stores and I myself was pretty slow with getting my copy.
I first thought "Meh, just another one of those shooters" and I weren't that positive about the game,
but I catched the game on a "50% Off" offer, so I gave it a chance and bought it.
I Came home, pretty excited about trying the game, and it weren't for nothing.
The game turned out to be great. It had an exciting story,
fun gameplay and much more, but we will get back to that later.

PC, PS3 And XBOX360
When I first started the game I was amazed, Getting diseased with malaria,
getting gunned down by heaps of enemy jeeps and saving my "Best buddy". Whats not to like?
You are sent to Africa to kill "The Jackal" An arms dealer, unknown to everyone.
Your job is to find him, kill him and send him back in a body back,
but things turn out to be quite different.
Story Mode
It starts off in a jeep, you are getting drewn to the city,
where you then get a seizure of Malaria.
You are then saved by "The Jackal" wich finds out about who you are and what you are there for.
You are then given a gun and sent out, all alone in Africa. When you suddenly get cought
up in a shootout between the two political parties in Africa.
(I'd barely call them political.) The APR and the UFLL. At this point, defeat is unavoidable.
After that you have to build your way up to the top. There's a lot of things you can do,
you can rush trough the main quests,
but i wouldn't reccomend it. There's many side quests you can do, help out your buddy, help out the arms dealer so you can unlock plenty of new weapons
or be an assassin. I like to call it "GTA, but in the jungle".
Multiplayer
There is also a multiplayer part of the game wich is really enjoyable.
The maps are really cool, and some of them are well designed,
some other of them are a bit bugged. The way it works is that you gain experience from killing the enemy,
helping your teammates if they are injured, or completing the goal(s) of the match. When you level up you get diamonds wich can be used to upgrade one of the six classes in Far Cry 2 Multiplayer.
The classes are:
Commando - Excellent at Short to mid range. Uses Assault riffles, like the AK. Also has a grenade launcher and some molotov cocktails.
Sharpshooter - Excellent at long range. Uses snipers, Also has a Flare gun and some grenades
Saboteur - Excellent at All ranges, depending on what weapons you choose. Has A burst Rifle, A Silenced MP5 and a Dart Rifle. Also Comes with an explosive bomb.
Gunner - Excellent at Short to mid range. The gunner has all the heavy assault rifles, like the M-249 Saw, also comes with an Uzi and grenades.
Rebel - Excellent at Mid range. Uses a Grenade Launcher, also comes with an Uzi.
Guerrilla - Excellent at Short range, use a shotgun. Also comes with a Mac 10 and some grenades.
There are three game modes:
Team Deathmatch and Deathmatch - I really don't have to explain These, do it?
Uprising - Your team has a captain, and so does the oposing team. your objective is to help your captain gain control of the three checkpoints that are on the map, and then kill the enemy captain.
Capture the Diamond - It's like Capture the Flag, just with diamonds.
Map Editor
And last, but not least, the Far Cry 2 Map Editor, it has a really easy interface,
yet you can make really complicated maps with it, it's great and really fun to fiddle around with.
Here's a screenshot of a map i am in the process of making:
All right, to be completely honest the graphics of this game is stunningly awesome.
If you can run it on "Ultra High" i suggest you do so. It's incredible. The trees, the details, the people, the everything. It's awesome.
Well, there isn't much to say about the sound, nothing outstanding but not bad either.
The only thing that is annoying is when you are playing the game mode Capture the
Diamond in multiplayer, the man who talks when you Capture/Drop/Deliver/ a diamond
is really annoying and tends to get spammed on games with a lot of players on it.
I think it's a great shooter because of all the things you can do, and the playability.
If you are a bit sick of Story Mode, just go play multiplayer, try another class or
something like that, sick of Multiplayer? fiddle around in the Map Editor, it's really great.
