How to compile ArcEmu (Mac)

Requirements

Mysql
XCode

Steps

Check out the source - Open terminal and type

Code:

svn co http://arcemu.info/svn/trunk source

Then cd to the source

Code:

cd source

Then type

Code:

autoreconf -f -i

Now type

Code:

/configure --prefix=/arcemu/server --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql_config

Lots of errors can occur.

If it can't find the pcre library get it here To install pcre type

Code:

cd /directory/where/you/downloaded/it/

then type

Code:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local

now type

Code:

make && sudo make install

That should take away the errors, now type

Code:

sh make_precompiled_header.sh

then press enter, after that type

Code:

make -j 3

Where the "3" is put the amount of processors you have + 1. So if you have 2 processors put 3, if you have 4 put 5 and so on.

After that we are almost done, type

Code:

sudo make install

That will finish it.

Also for updating I made a sh script. Download it here.

To run that just place it in your user directory and type this in terminal...

sh update.sh

It will speak to you and tell you when its done, also it will ask for you to enter your password once. smile.gif

There you have it. Now databases is a whole different thing. Ill get to that later
