Guide to adding MySQL repacks into your database.

Hi there for all of you who have your own MySQL Database but want to use repacks, here is a guide on how to add the Repack's MySQL database to yours.

Step 1: Locating the Data folder in the repack: Usually the repack's folder is in the \Server\MySQL\Data. That has the Repack's database

Step 2: Locating your Data folder. (Note: Because some people still use Windows XP, I will put the locations for the Data folder for both Windows XP and Windows Vista.) For your data folder it is usually located in:

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    For XP Users. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1\data

    For Vista Users: C:\Program Data\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1\Data

Please Note: your MySQL server version may be different than mine.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 3: Backing up your data folder. I say this just in case the repack you downloaded doesn't turn out the way you expected.

Step 4: Copying your repack. Now that you know where both your data folder and your repack's data folder is, you may copy it into your data folder.

Note: Do not copy your repack's data folder into your data folder so that doesn't cause hassle. E.G C:\documents and settings\All users\Application Data\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1\Data\Data. I want you to copy the contents of the folder into your data folder that way you don't have any error.

    And that should do it.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me at mailto:[email protected] and i will be happy to help you.

*EDIT* Working on getting pictures for windows XP currently working on vista.

Would be nice if you could add a screenshot on how it should look after the paste.
