Now that wotlk is out, I need gold. Currently I have 70 mining and 330 enchanting on a level 80 paladin. I'm willing to drop both if there is a good way to make gold. What are the two best professions for farming gold fast, and the method too please. Also, if anyone happens to have the new iDemise 80 gold guide, is it any good?

erm lvl mining to 450 and while ur at it, lvl skinning. That way you will have 2 biggest money makers

currently the biggest money makers are herbalism and inscription...80 gold for moonglow ink...HELL YEA!

I'd stick to Mining for a while and just farm ores up to 3-4k gold then drop it and get JC instead of it. Then :

1. buy ores (saronite)
2. prospect
3. sell cut blue gems
4. craft green items out of green gems
5. DE them
6. sell enchanting mats

I would recommend doing what Diogene suggested as well. It's relatively easy to make money on most servers with JC & enchanting by just playing the AH once they are high enough.

I found farming around wintergrasp's lakes brings in alot of herbs, saronite, and titanium

imo you can't beat jewelcrafting and mining. one you level them both up the gold just flows in.

I'd suggest mining too. First of all you can just mount up, install Gatherer addon and fly over Icecrown/Sholzar and spend about 1h each day on mining. You will get shitloads of ore, eternals and some titanium aswell, so you can sell Titansteel Bars or CD whatever you pref better.
Next step is to have JC on yourself or JC friend who would prospect that shitloads of ore you dig there. If you bring about 10 stacks with you it's pretty good chance you will have many blue gems that you can cut into some bestsellin onces for ah or just sell uncut ones.
Also good moneymakin is herbalism, since you will move around the world and collect it you can do herbalism aswell and sell frost lotus and leechblooms @ ah. Actually best way to active moneymaking.

If you'd like passive moneymaking such as JC/BS/Inscription first of all you will have to spend shitloads of money on powerleveling that, and spend some time to get recipes (dailys for JC, Research for Inscr and so on). Without that recipes you will not be able to make any reasonable money soon, so it's only for long way moneymaking.
Also while ppl will learn more recipes and get new discovery crafting prices slowly stabilize at some point and on my realm it's about 10g per craft. And crafting reagents prices are stay pretty high still because some ppl get new gear and need to enchant/gem it, ppl raid and use flasks and so on.

I'm just going to post here to reinforce jewelcrafting.

Ore is cheap to buy, fast prospecting. Cutting Gems is quick. Crafting and DEing items is also pretty quick.

You can easily spend about 15 minutes a day doing this and making 500g+ on a decent server.
