model swap

when i reached t4 on my toon i was abit dissapointed with armor choice we have. not only that all players look the same but npc get this cool armor. so i decided to look around and see if anyone attempted tp swap the models. well, all i found is a .myp archive extractor so i played around with it abit and found out that you can swap shield and weapon models very easy. but the armor it self is more complicated. since i dont have any knowledge or expirience in modeling or anything similar i wasnt able to do those. and the thing that theres no model viewer yet complicates this even more

ok so now ill show you how i did this. you will need a .myp archive extractor to do this. you can get it here . make sure you get the hash file and put it in <easymyp dir>/hash/. models mythic use have a .tif extension. they are inside art2.myp. dont forget to make a backup before u start this incase u do something wrong.

i will be replacing greenskin shield in this example:

1. open easyMYP
2. in filter box on the right enter: *gs_shield* to filter out all the other models (gs = greenskin, if u enter *shield* u get the list of all shields)
3. go to Archive>Open Archive and browse to your WAR directory
4. open art2.myp. wait for it to load. you should get this.
5. now select file named "it.0.0.gs_shield_te_02.nif" its the shield from the npc orc i posted above
6. go to File>Select Extraction Folder and browse to directory u want it to be extracted
7. press File>Extract Selected
8. now select the one you want to be replaced. (as u can see they all have tier number in file name. there are usually two different ones for every tier. "te" seem to be npc ones)
9. once u have selected what u need to replace. go to File>Replace Selected ,browse to the model you extracted earlier, press open and you are done.
10. make sure u have closed easyMYP before launching the game

Thats it. Now i know most people pobably wont bother with this since it takes quite abit of time to figure out what is what without the model viewer. lets hope people with more experience in these kind of things will look into this and in future we will be able to do more than just weapons and shields and much easier

But think about chaning the dwarf roflcoptah to the greenskin mount (Shaman and Squig Herder) now THAt would be super leet

the method described above only works with weapon and shield models. not mounts. and i think you wont be able to swap dwarf one to any other since you dont actually ride the roflcopter. it rides you so its abit different than all others

P.S dont forget to backup all .myp files before you attempt to do anything with them. thats how you restore it back if it doesnt work out
