Giving -rep

Personally, this is a horrible function. It allows players who have a certain amount of rep to dictate what is wrong and what is correct.

An example: The other day I released a guide on how to bypass private server bans. One of the members here didn't like how I was trying to contribute a way for those who want to play on a server they were wrongfully banned off of or etc so he -repped me. This is annoying, this is implying the reputation I worked for can be taken for whatever reason.

I agree that leaves to much room for biased -repping. Leave the -repping to the mods and admins.

Hellgawd gave you -rep. Talk to a mod, you cannot give -rep because you don't agree with doing someone (In this case bypassing bans instead of just staying banned).

I say contrib and up.
The reason for not donator is because all you need to do is donate to destroy people's rep.
For contrib it takes time to earn it.

Horrible idea, people get to contrib and sit there at 80 rep to leech. The was available to elite but was abused. Well to be honest Im not quite sure how the whole thing went. I dont think i was on the site at the time

I think its a horrible idea in general. If any person other than a mod/owner can destroy someones rep based off a post or something they don't agree with, its not cool.

Are the legendaries abusing it? If not then it should stay.

I personally think it's fine as it is. Giving -rep is the same as giving +rep, just the reverse.

Legendary members have the ability to subtract reputation from people because they're high up members who have worked hard to contribute to these forums to help make them successful, and they're hard-working members.

And don't deny it, you only made this thread because you're ticked off you lost rep.
