    [Guide] Model Changing in 2.0

Hello kids, today are we going to learn how to swap models 2.0 style
I have made this guide because blizzard have changed the way the files are sorted. It is realy not a big deal, but some of the newbies can have a hard time with the old guides

So how are model chancing realy done?
Well it is actually quite simple. Let's say that the Raptor and mount this file A, and the night elf tiger mount this file B.
When you equipped you'll raptor mount wow called file A, but what we have done this to copy file B and renamed it to A, so it would actually call five B.
In this example will the change the troll raptor mount two A night elf tiger mount.

    1. You need a program called. "MyWarCraftStudio"
Get he newest version here http://www.wowmodelviewer.org/index....fileinfo&id=12

    2. Now open MyWarCraftStudio, you get the screen like this.

    3. First we to have to open the model archive and find our raptor mount.
The file the rapture are in is called "common.MPQ" and is located in your data folder.

Your MyWarCraftStudio window should look like this, when you've opened the file.

    4. Find the to locate the raptor mount. It is located in "CREATURE\RIDINGRAPTOR", use the white explorer window to the left to navigate the two this folder.
When you have opened the folder your window should look like this.

There are three files in this folder.
RidingRaptor.m2 - this is the model for level 40 raptor mount.
PvPRidingRaptor.m2 - this is the model for level 60 epic raptor mount.
PVPRIDINGRAPTOREYEGLOWBLUE.BLP - this is the model for glowing eyes in the level 60 epic raptor mount.

In this guide will we only change the epic mount.

    5. Left click on PvPRidingRaptor.m2 and then right click on the file and select "Copy treepath", this will copy the location of the file into your clipboard.
Open and notepad document and paste it in their, so we won't forget it.

    6. Now we need to find the tiger mount and extract it.
The mound is at "CREATURE\FROSTSABRE" used the white explorer window again to navigate to this folder.

    7. Extract the tiger mount by first left clicking on "PVPRidingFrostSabre.m2" and then a right click it again and select "Extract filed to.."
Now save the file somewhere on the hard drive.

    8. Now we need to create a new MPQ file. The file late to be called patch-3.MPQ and be located in your data folder.
To reheat a new MPQ file with MyWarCraftStudio by clicking on "Pack (p)" and then select "Create MPQ archive".

    9. Now and pull the epic tiger mount to be a new mpq file. Do this by clicking "Pack (p)" and select "Add file to archive..".
In the new window to shows navigate your way to the epic tiger mount that we extracted.

    10. The "Add file" window will now show "PVPRidingFrostSabre.m2", this is NOT the location of the file on your hard drive, but the location of where the file shale be added in your MPQ archive.
We now need the Treepath that you copyed before. (CREATURE\RIDINGRAPTOR\PvPRidingRaptor.m2). Now exchange the text in the "Add file" window two "CREATURE\RIDINGRAPTOR\PvPRidingRaptor.m2" and press OK.

    11. You will now have the model of A epic tiger mount but it will have the skins of the raptor mount. Now press the save button in the upper left cornor.

How to add the skins will be shown in part two.

Saved For Part 2 - How to skin

Saved For Part 3 - Location on the most used skins

    EDIT: Fixed explaining errors

Re: Updated guide for model change.

Can you please clarify steps 9 and 10.

After we have created the new MPQ archive, and click on "Add file to archive...", do we select the 'cat mount' file that we extracted to the desktop, or do we input the file name of the 'pvpraptor mount'? Guess I'm a bit confused on what we're doing in these two steps and why.

Re: Updated guide for model change.

Maybe you could write a little bit more about how you installed MyWarCraftStudio.. since it's not just to download and open it.. I get error messages all the time. I'm going all nuts over this stupid program. Would be nice if some one could give me a real readme..
Since this guide is for the newbs (me) I think you could atleast tell us how to install the damn program.

I dl it.. I put it in C:\Program Files\MyWarcraftStudio... I go to the WoW map.. goes to the data map in the wow map.. open the mpq file - common.mpq.. then I get too choose program to open this mpq file.. I choose MyWarcraftStudio... nothing happens... I open MyWarcraftStudio.. it crashes... I try this 10 times in a row... still doesn't work... AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!.

And btw.. you're new mount is very ugly.
