[guide]Making Custom items with NO question marks!!!

Well usually i make an item with wow-v's item creator as its much easier than this but it does result in the question marks..

If you want to get rid of them here is how..,


First load ADE ( i use the fixed version for 2.4 thats downloadable here)

second Load the Items tab..

Now.. heres where it gets tricky..

You need to find an item that has the Display id you want..

For this guides purposes im gonna to use the Crystalblade of the Drenai.

Change the Stats and Spells and Such to whatever you want and the name..
Leave the DIsplayid the same.

Assign it to a different Entry id # and then update...
If you cant get this to work correctly on your server You can Cannabalize the Item but leaving the Entry id the same too and it will work for sure but will Delete the previous item.(Ie no more Crystalblade of the Drenai)


I now have a Sword of Defiance(made of name) on my server with a Crystal blade of the drenai graphic in hand and IN inventory!!

So, weapon's images are not anymore 'Red ?'

No they dont appear as red Question marks doing it this way.. Now i only have my database to test it on, so i dont know how it will react to different set ups but mines a 2.42 server and doing it this way i have made items that dont have Red question marks for Icons in your inventory.

Ummm... Your a retard this is techically not a custom item... All you are doing is replacing a old item. If you do this then you have to go to w/e mob(s) drop it and delete it off thier loot tables and either add it to a custom vendor or mob, or however you plan to use this. Yes, it is away the Red question Mark. But not really necessary unless u have like a i70 server and there is no use for low level items so they are basically null.

So basicly you mean that we should edit an item not making one? and just change the entery whan we update the sql? Or should we pick one item for example worn short sword and edit it then update sql so its new stats on?

.....Wow called a retard for explaining something someone asked about.. Yes i realize that you are overwriting a item Blah blah blah but it gets rid of the red question marks as it says it does..

Secondly You can Enter a DIFFERENT number as i stated in the guide.. Item cannibalization has been around a long time what i was explaining was an alternate method ..

So regardless yes to the last poster you can choose a low level item and use that by simply editing the stats..

The red question mark is a glitch on the current patch that is not on the priority of the Emulators to fix.

It's caused because the Emulator look at the entry ID of the item for the Inventory DisplayID. While in-game it will make a correct path.

personally, remaking an item is a pain. There is a button called "Delete" Make the Item on WoW-V with the ID of the deleted item. The result is the same, the means to do so is easier.

I already knew this, It was not exactly hard to figure it out, rofl.
But still, there might be people out there that cant figure it out.

if u just wanna make an item on Wow-V and u dont want question marks go to Item ID to Display ID Converter i just converts the Display id to want Wow-v wants it to be and it will be the correct image to
