How To Make A Mangos Server On A Mac 2.4.3 + Public No Hamachi!

Hello everyone today I will teach you how to make a WoW private server on a mac. Then ill show you how to make it public.

I took all of this from MY website MacPack.Co.Cc but I still ow some credit.

Credits-

MAMP - Used for Apache Mysql and PHP. Also used to make it public.

MangosX - Used to download all the database files.

Navicat Lite

Ok lets get started.

Requirements


Mac OS X 10.5.4

Intel Processor

2 Gigs of Space (5 Recommended for V-Maps)

Internet (High Speed Recommended)

A Brain

World Of Warcraft 2.4.3 (Duh)

Next how to make it.



How to make a WoW private server on a mac!


1.) First download Mac-Pack from the download link on the bottom of the page. After you extract it mount it and drag the files where it shows the arrows.

2.) After that is done we need to download Maps. So first open MangosX and download "maps". Then close MangosX.


3.) Then after thats done your already done! Lets make some accounts now. Open up "MAMP from your applications folder. If both lights are green your ready to rock and roll. If they are not disable personal web sharing. Heres a pic of when MAMP looks right.




4)Now open up a web browser (Safari or Firefox recommend) and go to "localhost/register” and you will be taken to an account creation page. I think you know how to do that. To administer that page go to "http://localhost/register/administration.php" Login user is "@admin" and the password is "admin"


5)Open MangosX and go to the apple menu and click the item i have highlighted below.




6) Go through that and now we can start the server!

7) Go to your wow folder and set your realmlist to “set realmlist 127.0.0.1”

Now open these files “/Opt/Mangos/bin/mangos-realmd, mangos-world. That will start up the server. You will see a bunch of scrolling text for like 5-20 seconds. Then you can login!

9) If you want to make someone a gm when the server is running type in “setgm accountnamehere 3”

If you want to make someone a moderator type this “setgm accountnamehere 2”


If you want to make someone a normal player type in “setgm accountnamehere 1”

The rankings are 1-Player 2-Moderator 3-Administrator.


Have fun with you newly made server! (Note MangosX cannot be running for MAMP to work. correctly. If you dont want the website then you can start the server up from MangosX.)

I can't figure out the account process.

I go to the URL you posted, type in @admin and admin and it works all dandy. Then I change it from @admin admin to what I want it to be then press send. It says it is successful, and again at the bottom of the page. But I try logging in and it always says "the username or password is invalid." I know I typed it in right and everything.

Any help?

**Edit: I made new accounts about those aren't GM status...

**Edit: I modified it directly by going to navicat and all that. But whenever I press C to open the character thing, WoW crashes and I get the error. Any help there?

What you changed is only for the localhost thing, you have to create a new account and then make this account Admin in terminal in the realmd file
ok in realmd you have to type

setgm accountnamehere 3

then press enter
you change what I highlited in red to the account you just created.

I've got the " libmysqlclient_r.15.dylib Error " but when I try to install the jeremy's libmysqlclient_r.15.dylib, it says me that a higher version is already in use... (but the error still appearing !)

I got stuck at that part too, but I was only making a server for myself. You need to make sure everything in your etc folder has the same parameters.

For help to everyone, at step five

5)Open MangosX and go to the apple menu and click the item i have highlighted below.

If you are unable to install it, select finger, on the menu at the top press go, and type in this folder
/usr/local
Once in, go to mysql-lib-mysql, copy the file, go back, paste the file, [mysql-lib] and thats that step done.

I used to have this problem...what I suggest is that you uninstall EVERYTHING you used to do the server(Mangosx, mamp, server application folder, etc.) then re-download everythign and start all over :S I know it can sound pretty long but it worked for me, when you re-install, make sure you follow all the instructions carefully(make sure ports are ok and that everything that asks to be the same, THE SAME.)

i have downloaded all these things and have my server running... its public... but my friend is not able to log on with the account i made him he has changed his realmlist and i am able to get on the server but he cant please help
