Beast of the the Barrens

So everyone knows that the area around ratchett is very low lvl 5-18ish beasts. Ok well, i was fooling around on the flat plain right above Rat and came across a lv 21 elite zefra (excuse spelling lol) you know the zebra like creature. This one is called the Swift Mane. It runs constantly and is hard to target unless i guess you are a hunter or lock with a pet, never the less i did kill it and it gave up The Zelot's Blade (blue item)!! i waited and waited for a respawn for over an hour and it never came back. iv gone there every day looking for him again and not seen him. Am I nuts or is that strange?

yes it is true this is a rare elite spawn and one of the few mobs without a complete loot table. though i do believe blizzard removed the gold dragon portrait to a silver though.

and yes he is fast!

I almost always see him when leveling a character there. I've killed him 4 times so far and gotten the blue ring with defense twice and the second half was random green items.

ive seen this mob many a time, since WoW first came out. ive killed him countless times, but ive never had him drop a blue for me =( just greens. rare spawns have a timer for when the spawn again. idn what Swift Mane's timer is, prolly not that long, since its not some uber leet mob that drops epixs all the time. another mob is Humar Pridelord, a savannah tiger thing thats grey. he spawns right around ratchet and those trees nearby. lvl 23 elite i believe.

yeah, i was on my way to mess with some lowbs with my pals at razor hill, got sidetracked, and i swear i must have spent like 10 minutes just trying to to land a hit on the damn thing...lol /reroll hunter
